Come Observe the Night Sky with the NH Astronomical Society

Come on down to the Center in Eastman (South Cove Activity Center in Eastman – Lakeside location) and learn about telescopes and the night sky! Please go inside for the first part of the program. Telescopes will be set up for viewing outside, after the first part of the inside program, and the NH Astronomical Society will be there to teach and guide participants. Dress warmly and masks are encouraged.

The purpose of this statewide club (NHAS) is to promote interest in and to educate about the wonders of the night sky. One NHAS public outreach activity has been to help place lending telescopes in public libraries, where they can be checked out just like a book. Dunbar Free Library in Grantham has such a scope.
This presentation will focus on this telescope–its features, how it works, and how to use it and the accessories that come with it. Following the presentation, NHAS members will conduct a “skywatch” where they set up their own telescopes to share with the audience “the wonders of the night sky.”

Hosted by The Center Presents & The Dunbar Free Library, this event is free, in-person, and open to the public!

If you enjoy this program, be sure to borrow the free telescope at the library!
