The Friends of the Dunbar Free Library is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to enriching the resources and activities of the Dunbar Free Library. We are a team of volunteers who donate time and energy and raise funds to support library offerings. These include:
- Resources: Funds the library’s Museum Passes, maintains the Seed Library, purchases DVDs for the collection, and funds access to Hoopla and Kanopy.
- Programs: Funds prizes for the Summer Reading Program, food and supplies for T(w)een Nights and art classes, and guest speakers.
- Amenities: The year-round coffee bar, the Give-a-Book Program (a book added to the collection for every baby born in Grantham and every new cardholder 12 and under), and a subscription to BookPage.
- Gatherings: A Holiday Open House and summertime Annual Celebration, as a thank-you to supporters.
Here are some ways that you can help:
- Volunteer with an event or program, be a speaker or activity leader, or serve on the Board
- Suggest an improved or new program
