INTER-LIBRARY LOANS

We Are Part of the NHAIS Inter-library System

The Dunbar Free Library is a part of the NH Automated Information System (NHAIS), which allows our patrons to borrow items from a much wider collection than just our library.

To request an item or items from another library just follow these 3 steps:

1.) Before asking us to request an item, please check to see that the item was published more than 6 months ago. We want to make sure that the lending library has the item available for their patrons first. If it is a new item, you can call us to suggest the item for purchase, or click on the button below.

2.) Fill out the Inter-library Loan (ILL) form below, come into the library, or call us at 603-863-2172. We will then make the request for you. Requested items arrive every Monday and Thursday from our van service, unless it is a holiday.

3.) Wait for a call from us. Sometimes we are UNABLE to get the item for you. Most often we can, and it usually takes about a week or two.

David delivers books to and from our library every Monday and Thursday, except holidays.

You can check the NHAIS system for your item, but we will need to place the request for you.

You can suggest a book for purchase, and if we decide to add it to our collection, you’ll be among one of the first to read it.
